Quickbooks Enterprise 8.0 I can no longer create new users

Recently I tried to create a new user in Quickbooks 8.0 but it told me "Name Already Exists". Now I know the name does not exist and it doesn't matter what I choose .. I get the same message. What does this mean?

  1. Diane, this usually happens when your data files have been corrupted. If you have other companies on the same drive that have the same issue then that's a definate. You need to contact Quickbooks Support, they will upload your file and rebuild the data. Good and the bad: good- your file will be fixed, Bad - it takes between 2-5 business days so anything you do while waiting on your file back needs to be redone in the fixed file they send back or just dont use Quickbooks for those days- but for most that's impossible.
